Thank you for your interest in the Accelrys Scientific Innovation Maturity Model
With only a quarter of R&D projects reaching the market, there is growing evidence that innovation is stalling, especially across science-led industries. Yet innovation is the primary source of competitive differentiation, and the value of a fast and effective “innovation engine” has never been higher. Tools and technology alone will not be enough – companies who can effectively determine how to "do the right things" and simultaneously “do things right” by purposefully aligning their People, Processes, Tools, and Data with their business objectives will be the winners*. Accelrys has been helping companies who rely upon scientific innovation to improve their scientific tools and infrastructure since 2001. By introducing the Scientific Maturity Model, we hope to help you in developing a roadmap that will give you competitive advantage by building a world-class scientific innovation process that supports your business.
The Scientific Maturity Model maps your organization’s characteristic traits and behaviors in four key areas - people, process, tools, and data. The goal is to evaluate your current scientific innovation capabilities and propose ways in which you may improve to better achieve your business objectives.
The Maturity Model Self-Assessment is relevant to all stakeholders in the scientific process, and consists of 12 questions that should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. You may respond to the questions within the context of your team, department, business unit, or full enterprise. Upon completing the Self-Assessment you will receive a report that benchmarks your organization within the focus areas of People, Process, Tools, and Data. We recommend that you discuss the results of the Self-Assessment with colleagues and use the report as a basis for discussion with Accelrys.
